WINTER LAYERING…..Details in Camel

As the Winter months slowly warm up to the coming spring, here are the final chapters to enjoying the Dapper Code this season and also what to look out for when you are buying from those sales for the next year. Inspirations from the great Gentleman in the Pittiuomo showcase in Italy which is THE FASHION FAIR for Men, the look here with the formal blazer&overcoat to the more casual zippered jacket&overcoat also helps to make more of what you have in your wardrobe! The additions of the Indian prints add the special overlay of the local influence which really adds the touch of our own to what is otherwise a very global winter look.

FORMAL LAYEREDThe starting point here was this wonderful Camel colored Overcoat which is one of the most classic shades one can have in their closet. Although many men still work towards the blacks and darker navy but I assure you that this is a great investment to have made. The neutral tone and its elegance is timeless and it works against a great many colors. Teamed here with classic double breast Khaki jacket it is a guaranteed winner. The play of checks in the shirt, trousers and the hounds tooth pattern waistcoat adds the surprise when you are unbuttoning the jacket. Although this look has been focused more on the BLEND of the browns and whites but you can make it as interesting playing up the contrasts as well!!

Most of the details are captured in the Video below….also check more of my videos online now at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCd-Hj0n2KNuOl3AmHOWAuoA?view_as=subscriber

The solid tie takes the tones from the waistcoat, and it helps to bring it a bright accent without interfering with the pattern play. The Retro styled silk scarf with the automobile motif is of course the quirky accent. Am also loving my new Dr Martens studded shoes which are a great eclectic touch in the overall look. The wooden framed glasses add a touch of Retro to the overall look.

Details about the multiple play of the overall look and a celebration of the details!!

THE INFORMAL TWIST

As always there are many ways to play the Dapper Overcoat than just the pure formal layering with the jackets and tie. Seen here is the idea of just changing into a more trendy informal zippered jacket and trading the scarf into a different styling and we have a cool look for going out in the evening. Add the Ascot classic chequered hat and you have a super look for your dinner party or time out with your friends. The scarf instead of the draped effect, above is done as a collar wind muff which also gives it a different look.

Wow thats some good styling with layers for the cold season. Here in bangalore it barely gets as cold to wear any of the layers expect perhaps in the wee hours of the night.

Winters are the best ! N winter layering is the smartest thing I feel. I love love winter layering but unfortunately Mumbai never experiences winter even to the extent of wearing warm clothes alone, forget layering

Staying in Mumbai, winter fashion is one thing that I miss the most. It’s a different genre all togther which is left unexplored for us Mumbaites. But when I travel I make sure to make the most out of it. Frm long coats to boots and jackets…. I really loved it styling and specilly the wooden frame glasses
