The Summer Monochrome, Chapter One….featuring Abraham & Thakore

Classic Black &Whites, what else can be better. Stated in bold intentions or muted details the idea of the monochrome  combination is something one cannot not have done at some point in their wardrobes. Inspired by the many explorations of the Design House of Abraham & Thakore, is a dual feature on some of my selections from their summer lookbook.

The Muslin Whites

As always the focus with the brand is on textiles and details. The minimal thread detail on the kurta shoulder panels on each side and the very light fabric is breeze within the garment when you have it on. Teamed here with a cotton tasseled scarf and a matching thread woven accent creates a linear play of elements. The  kurta cuff sleeve ends adds a touch of formality to the design as well. Worn with the classic silver polki diamonds for the ring and ear studs , you have the perfect summer event outfit. Team this up with the pair of jeans and you can even enjoy a casual look .

The Cotton Floral

The starting point in this outfit is about the statement floral embroidered drape which revolves as the main accent. Teamed with a pathan styled short kurta shirt and the piped cotton pants you have a style which is trendy and inventive. The look is more dramatic than the one above for my more eclectic friends who are a bit more experimental with their style quotient. The pure cotton look is comfortable, easy to wear and and can be dressed up or down as you wish for the occasion.

Abrham&thakore

The signature addition of the gladiator styled laceups and the sunglasses add the drama that really brings it together. Silver statement accessories are must haves with the black&whites.  The outfit with just the piped trouser and the  shirt is also a great look for a more toned minimal look.

More on the Black and whites coming from the Brand, Stay tuned!!

It’s tough to work with two extremely contrasting colors like Black and White together. The collection is soothing to eyes. I hope soon all of us get an opportunity to go out and wear such flaunt worthy summer clothes.
