I think for most men the Staple of Blue and white is a must have in the closet. Moving from the classic “blue jeans & white shirt” combination here is an opportunity to have some fun with Indian hand loom textiles in the same palette. The art of Block Print and the Ikkat weave as you may have seen in my other albums are absolute musts to try when you are exploring that Indo Western look.

In the images here are two main Blue Garments, An Ikkat chevron pattern cape and a Traditional Block Print Kurta. Teamed with white in both the looks the intent of course is to have some fun and create a surprise yet underplayed effect. Playing with little accents like scarves, jewelry to strike a visual note and as they are in cotton of course they are ideal for the hot summers here.

Caped

The cape is an unusual garment to see in Indian handlooms. Esp with a striking chevron pattern which is quite contemporary. But that is exactly what the Design House of Lila does often and successfully manages to create rather contemporary garments and silhouettes. Do check their story on the link and also more on my blog story which is Lila and Me.

Printed

A classic Indigo  Floral Block printed Kurta from  is the start point. Teamed with a classic white churidar and slippers like the previous look but yet a more traditional format here. The quirk factor here is the rushed white stole with flourscent blue tassels from House of Idli.
