We all like wearing our jackets don’t we!

Wearing a Suit or Jacket to a formal occasion at work or even a family event is standard wardrobe essential that all men have. In answering to the “smart casual” dress code we may team it up with jeans sometimes but the Jacket is pretty much an basic in all our closets.

The curation of this story is a compilation of some of my favorites in how we can change the “Dynamics of the Jacket Formal”. To add the quirk factor being the theme of how we make a basic  look, change its game by adding accessories and becoming a showstopper. From bowties, scarves, lapel pins, Indo fusion, hats, waistcoats…the options are endless on how this can become the talk of the party.

The Polka Fest

If you think the polka dots are not in season for men, think again. Dotted designs are very popular from Retro times to current wardrobes and you can up the game by combining patterns to bring the special quirk factor. Shown here is a great way a polka dotted jacket and motif shirt is offset with stripes and paisleys. Looks fun isn’t it.

Diamonds & Dots

If you haven’t tried bringing in Blues&Yellows together this is a great way of creating a quirk statement. A clean Blue blazer and polka dotted shirt is suddenly upped its game by using a Argyle

yellow grey cardigan sweater and silver tie. The polka enhances in the pocket square and suddenly you will be defiantly the focus attention at the event.

A Chequered Quirk

These images showcase how the same suit can work in totally two different ways and have a very different impact. After the Big day, the reception is the last evening before the events all come to a close. The traditional classic Tie here with gold paisleys is seen with a totally contemporary bowler hat and rainbow lapel pin. In keeping the look clean the grey shirt is then offset by the bright orange shoes at which then enhances the orange overtones in the accents.

 A Color Rush

Sometimes the starting point of the look is the Jacket itself. A quirky choice is this wonderful multi thread color mixed weave of woolen jacket from Zara. The rush of colors in neon oranges, yellows and whites against a dark navy base gives you the options of wearing it with a variety of combinations.

Spruced up with my, love for traditional Batik this vintage automobile print definitely seals the deal for this look.
